atWare Vietnam has a Core Values that all employees share and define as common values.
There are 11 core values in total, and I would like to introduce them in order.
First is my favorite, Fun to work.
I have been working as an IT engineer for more than 30 years now.
I have worked on so many different projects on so many different jobs. The first 20 years were as an engineer, and recently as a manager, I have been more involved in the management of the company, rather than being confined to a specific project.
The work is not always easy, in fact, it is more often difficult and painful. Everything doesn't go the way I want it to. I don't run away from it, but rather enjoy it. I think about how to solve the problem, take action, and if it doesn't work out again, I think about it all over again.
I am happy when I am able to overcome the problems together with my colleagues. I am happy when I receive words of thanks from customers. Unfortunately, I sometimes receive hard words when I fail to deliver sufficient value... but I will work even harder so that next time I can increase the value of my work.
I could have chosen a fun work, but I think I have been thinking about how to enjoy it by taking a chance on the work given to me. As I repeated such efforts and produced results, however, I think I naturally found enjoyable and rewarding work. Fun to work is hard. Even if it is hard, if I achieve results that exceed the expectations of a client who trusts me and asks me to do a job for them, the next such opportunity will come my way.
I am currently working on another difficult job in Vietnam. I am sure that I will be able to achieve it with my colleagues (or not), and I would like to have more and more Fun to work!
