4 Simple Tools That Make My Work Easier (And You Might Love Them Too!)

Hi, I’m Jacie, a software engineer at atWare Vietnam, and today I want to share a few simple tools I use every day—not just because they’re useful, but because they actually make my work (and life) smoother. The best part here is you don’t have to be an engineer to love them too.
1. Clipy
A clipboard extension app for macOS, Clipy is like a super clipboard manager. I use it to save frequently-used commands, snippets, and text, which helps speed up repetitive tasks. It’s also easy to transfer settings to a new machine, keeping my workflow consistent wherever I work.
2. DeepL
Working on Japanese projects daily, I rely on DeepL’s smooth, inline translations. It shows translated text right next to the original, making it so much easier to read and understand. Just hit ⌘ + C + C to instantly translate.
Note: Vietnamese is not supported yet.
3. Lightshot (Chrome Extension)
Need to take a screenshot and quickly annotate it? Lightshot is my go-to. I often use it to explain something visually or add quick demos to reports. It's fast, intuitive, and a real time-saver.
4. Fork (Bonus For Developers)
Fork is a fast, friendly Git client for Mac and Windows.
Besides the usual Git features like conflict resolution and interactive rebase — its quick Pull Request creation is my favorite. If your repo is on GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, it opens the Pull Request page with pre-filled information. You just click submit!
I hope these tools make your workday a bit smoother too. Got a favorite tool I should try? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
